Call centre technology provider CallPay has scooped the 2015 BPESA Regional Industry Award for Best Technical Innovation. The company, headed up by CEO JP van der Spuy, develops a system that enables customers to enter card numbers directly into telephone keypads to make live payments while on phone calls. It’s an innovative solution to an industry challenge and makes paying with credit cards via telephone safer and easier. Data centres using CallPay’s technology are also able to remain compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) regulations and the Protection of Personal Information (POPI) Act.

The company also recently announced a partnership with Nasper's subsidiary PayU to develop solutions for the South African market.
