Michael is a chartered accountant. Together with partners, he founded the largest independent cellular retail credit business in SA which was sold in 2013 to a listed company.
He pioneered cellular micro-lending and device financing in South Africa and has been involved in the telecommunications industry for over 10 years launching many successful products and services that today span 15 countries across 3 continents.
Completed his Bachelor of Commerce specialising in finance and accounts in 2002. Prior to joining Airvantage Mark was the operations director of Wideopen Platform the leader of large format outdoor advertising in the South African market.
After selling Wideopen Platform to Primedia Limited in 2006, Mark joined the board of Tone Digital a large format printing and signage manufacturing business supplying media owners and franchisees with a turnkey solution for all their print and signage requirements. In 2009, Mark founded Icon South Africa in partnership with Icon UK. Icon under Mark’s leadership was appointed by FIFA to design, produce and install all the signage and branding for FIFA Confederation Cup 2009 and FIFA World Cup 2010.
