Since then, wiGroup has been behind more than 40 POS Integrations & billions of transactions for hundreds of corporate clients. Our platform is the dominant interface for mobile transactions across formal retailing in grocery, health & beauty and hospitality sectors with significant coverage of fashion, petroleum and credit-based retailers. On the back of demonstrating real value in Africa we are expanding globally.
Our team of 150+ operates from 6 offices across the globe & doubles in size every two years as more brands, retailers and applications transact across the wiGroup platform.

In 2007, at the age of 23, Bevan founded wiGroup, a company whose vision it is to simplify and improve how the world transacts, with the aim to enrich lives by empowering passionate people to build remarkable solutions. Today, wiGroup employs over 140 people across 6 countries, has processed more than 600 million dollars. Their clients include 8 of South Africa’s largest retail groups, the 2 largest telco’s, 3 of the largest banks, and 2 of the largest insurance companies. Bevan’s passion outside of work are his friends, family, most sports, great coffee, and the outdoors.
Basie attained his Masters in Mathematical Science from Stellenbosch University which he financed himself by consulting for software and technology companies. He was also awarded an Armscor grant for his postgraduate research into high performance simulation techniques for missile defence systems in the ground based air defence arena. Basie joined Bevan at wiGroup in 2007.
